Schedule a free 20 minute consultation here where we can talk about what brings you to therapy, my approach, and any questions you have. If you decide I’m a good fit for you, we can schedule regular sessions.
I recommend starting off weekly so that we can build rapport and momentum early on in therapy. As clients experience the shifts and changes they desire, it’s common to reduce sessions to every two weeks. I only see clients every three weeks or on a monthly basis if they are transitioning out of therapy.

In the first and second session we’ll take the time to understand who you are and how you’ve been coping with your current issues. We’ll take into context your family upbringing, cultural background, your social identities, and your values so that we can collaborate to develop a plan and pathway for therapy that best fits your needs and lived experiences.
Following this, a typical session looks like practicing exercises for nervous system regulation, utilizing IFS Therapy to help you release any internal and external constraints that make you feel stuck, and using expressive arts (drawing, visualization, music, etc.) to help you externalize any thoughts and emotions that have a hard time being shared through regular talk therapy.
Sometimes sessions have a lot of sorrow and depth and at times we find ourselves making space for joy and celebration. Ultimately therapy has its own ebbs and flows unique to each therapeutic relationship which get uncovered over time together.

Honestly, it depends! Some folks come to therapy to work through a particular issue/event or to prepare for a specific life phase/transition. Some folks come to therapy as a regular practice to engage in self-reflection and self-care. Some folks come to therapy to unpack the trauma and burdens they’ve been carrying with them since childhood. All of these scenarios have different time frames and we’ll check in regularly to see how therapy is going for you to determine how long you would like to continue or when you would like to end.

For individual therapy my rate is $185 per 50 minute session. Currently I do not have any sliding scale openings. For support groups my rate is $65 per 90 minute session. I occasionally partner with local organizations to offer sliding scale support groups.
Insurance
I currently do not take insurance. However, I can provide you a superbill which you can submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. Check in with your insurance provider to see what your out-of-network benefits are, if you need to meet a deductible and/or out-of pocket max before reimbursements can occur, what percentage of the session fee they can reimburse you, and how many sessions they can reimburse you. -
In-Person: Wheelchair & Mobility Device Accessibility
My office is located on the first floor, has a ramp leading to the front door, and is wheelchair and mobility device accessible. There is street parking for clients which is readily available, however it is on an incline.In-Person: COVID Precautions
During the initial consultation we can discuss COVID precautions in depth. I wear KN95 masks during in-person sessions if a client requests, after I travel, and if I’ve been in contact with someone who has been ill. If you or I have recently been exposed to someone with COVID, I do ask that we move to a virtual session for that week.Virtual Sessions
Currently I use Zoom to conduct virtual sessions and can enable closed captioning at your request. I acknowledge that needs change day to day and encourage you to show up as you need to. This might look like dimming your lights due to light sensitivity, having your camera off, laying down, being bundled up, having your animal companion with you, eating in session, or pausing to use the restroom. -
